The authorities on Monday shut down a reformist daily newspaper, Sarmayeh, on charges of “repeated violations of the press law,” the official news agency IRNA reported. No details were disclosed about the violations attributed to the newspaper, which has been critical of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s economic policies.
